Arts & Business Cymru Launch New Arts & Kids Investment Fund
Arts & Kids Invest is a new investment programme provided by Arts & Business Cymru (A&B Cymru). Through scheme, A&B Cymru aims to encourage new sponsorship and grow established business engagement with the arts for the benefit of future generations in communities across Wales.
The focus of the programme is on children and young people experiencing disadvantage. It will support projects that aim to combat this disadvantage and make a real difference to young people’s lives through engagement with the arts.
Examples of such disadvantage include:
Illness, distress, abuse or neglect.
Any kind of disability.
Behavioural or psychological difficulties.
Living in poverty or situations of deprivation.
Funding levels are dependent on the length of time the business partner has been supporting the arts in Wales. The minimum business investment required is £1,000. The maximum Arts & Kids Invest funding is £15,000. The minimum is £500.
Eligible projects must identify new business money over and above any existing commercial relationship between the partners.
The scheme is open to not-for-profit arts organisation partnering with businesses in Wales. The arts organisation must be the lead applicant.
The deadline for applications is Monday 18 June 2012.
Coalfields Community Grants programme
Coalfield Community Grants Programme.
It will provide revenue and capital grants of up-to £10,000 for voluntary & community groups (refer to the from for further information on eligibility criteria).
The grant programme will support activities that:
Support Social Enterprise growth & development
Offer services, support & activities to the community
Creates jobs or assists people directly into work
Supports people with skills/advice to access work opportunities (such skills development and increasing volunteer engagement & participation)
New childcare places
Transport schemes
Health & well-being services and activities for disadvantage groups in the community
Improvements to community buildings
Increase understanding and engagement of the community with their heritage
Improving community green spaces

McDonald’s KickStart Grants - New Fund Launch
McDonald’s is providing grants through its new KickStart scheme to help support community football clubs throughout the UK which will help to develop their players and the community.
Eligible clubs must be:
Recognised by their national FA.
Have at least one team at or below junior (U18) level.
Individuals may apply on behalf of a club as long as they are over 18 and involved with the club at some level, such as a coach, volunteer or parent. Only one application can be made per club per project application period.
A total budget of £75,000 is available for 2012. One-off grants of between £500 and £2500 are available (including VAT for a single project).
Examples of eligible costs include:
Club facilities.
Grounds-keeping tools.
Training courses.
Pitch hire.
Mini-vans, washing machines, whatever the club and team could significantly benefit from.
The current deadline for applications is 30 June 2012.

Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development - Nominations for 2013
The purpose of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise - Sustainable Development is to recognise companies that have integrated environmental, social, economic and management aspects of sustainable development into their business in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Businesses may apply under the following categories:
An outstanding advance in sustainable development, sustained over not less than two years.
Continuous achievement in sustainable development, sustained over not less than five years.
Achievements in either category may be assessed in any of the following fields:
The invention, design, production (in respect of goods), performance (in respect of services, including advice), marketing, distribution, after-sale support of goods or services.
and/or:
The management of resources (including natural, manufactured and human resources) and relationships (with people and organisations).
Any United Kingdom ‘business unit’ whether large, medium or small which produces goods or provides services can be considered for an award. Business units must be able to demonstrate substantial improvement in business performance and commercial success, to levels that are outstanding for the size of the applicant’s operations.
The 2012 deadline for the 2013 Awards is 28 September 2012.

The North Face - Explore Fund - Open To Applications
Through the North Face - Explore Fund, grants are available across Europe to not-for-profit organisations for projects that encourage youth outdoor participation and reconnect children with nature, to inspire and enable the next generation of explorers and conservationists.
Financial support of up to €2,500 is available.
Eligible projects will:
Encourage community involvement.
Focus on breaking down barriers to getting young people outdoors.
Seek a specific audience and reach out to a specific community or place of interest.
